Presumptive Testing
Presumptive tests are biochemical tests to identify the nature and location of various body fluids, including blood, semen and saliva. The tests are used both to locate body fluid stains and to screen the stains once they have been identified.
Presumptive testing is part of the established protocol in cases of serious crime with violence, thefts etc. where the perpetrators might have injured themselves and/or their victim and where objects containing body fluid material might have been discarded. It is also frequently employed in private investigations in cases where the analysis of a stain can possibly prove the identity of the person it originated from.
DNA Solutions offers presumptive testing for blood, semen and saliva on a case-by-case basis. For further information about this service or to discuss your particular requirements, please contact our Forensic Consultant on marketing@dnasolutions.org.
